Cam Valley Crematorium Blessing

An official ceremony to mark the opening of Cam Valley Crematorium took place last week. The service of dedication was led by the Right Reverend Alan Hopes, Bishop of East Anglia, who was joined by representatives from across a range of beliefs and faiths. Cam Valley crematorium opened in January this year and has already held almost 500 funerals from across the region. The crematorium is the closest and most natural choice for families from north Hertfordshire and south Cambridgeshire. Set in more than 13 acres of grounds, families have all the time and facilities they need to hold a private funeral. Hourly intervals are allowed for each funeral to avoid the bottlenecks that affect other crematoria and ensuring that each service is afforded the dignity that is required to ensure a unique and personal event.

The Bishop emphasised the benefit the new crematorium would provide in ensuring every funeral was carried out as individual occasion and how the bereaved can draw comfort from the beautiful, natural surroundings.
